I few weeks ago I had the pleasure of getting to work with Catherine from Catherine Captures Photography and Belle Crouse on a photo shoot at High Five Coffee in Downtown Asheville. Most of my work is spent in my office behind a computer screen, or at my work desk, so it was a really nice change of pace to be able to be on the scene of the shoot and style it all.
(When you're short and standing next to a model in heels)
I put together two looks for this shoot:
The first featured our Black Floral Romper. I really love the plunging neckline of this piece and knew I wanted to create a layered jewelry look for this outfit. I started to draw it all out and came up two chokers and a lariat style necklace. Then, I ordered the supplies and thankfully it all came together perfectly, just as I had imagined. (This isn’t always the case when I design something by drawing it out, rather than ordering supplies first and then coming up with a design. And yes I am aware that my drawings look like a child's haha).
For the next look I wanted to feature our Dusty Rose Print Tunic Dress because it's one of my favorite Spring pieces! I decided to belt it with our Gypsy Style Buckle Belt and created a simple Crochet Lace Choker to go with this look.
The reason I chose High Five was because of the succulent-lined windows, I thought a shot outside through the windows would be amazing with the plants. Lucky for us the seat opened up right before we left and Catherine was able to capture some amazing photos!
This was only the second time I’ve been on scene styling a photo shoot, but I know I'll be doing more in the future!
As I sit in the house in my sweatpants watching the snow fall outside of my window, I am dreaming about festival season and the warm weather ahead.
I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to put together a few of my festival must-haves!
10 Festival Must Haves:
I love Statement Necklaces and Chokers! These are by far one of the best accessories to turn an outfit into something Festival-Ready. They've gotten really popular in the last few years, so I've created several different designs that work perfectly for an outfit this Summer!
You can find our Statement Necklaces HERE.
I LOVE the 90's and Choker Necklaces are a perfect way to bring those vibes back! We've got concho, wrap, and lace chokers to help you create the perfect look for festivals.
If you are going to be at a music festival all day, you have to have a good blanket! I especially love Mexican Blankets since they are perfect for sitting on as well as wrapping up when the wind gets too cold!
Check out our Mexican Blankets HERE.
I'm starting to think that I can never have too many bralettes! These are an easy way to accent festival outfits with tank tops or v-necks. Not to mention they are SO comfortable!

Rings are always a great accessory, but festival season means it's time to layer them and create unique looks with all your favorite rings! Festival Season is the perfect time to show off a one of a kind look and rings are perfect for that.
All of our Rings can be found at this link.
I've discovered that bodysuits are a lifesaver when it comes to high-waisted pants and shorts. Imagine never having to tuck your shirt in over and over again!

There is no better time to take advantage of dry shampoo than at an overnight festival! Who's got time to wait in line at the showers when your favorite band is about to play? I love the Batiste Original Clean Dry Shampoo.
Anti Frizz Serum
Let's face it, sometimes music festivals get rained out and, if your hair is anything like mine, that means it's going to be a frizzy mess. Make sure you bring some sort of anti frizz serum like this L'Oreal Air Dry Undone It Cream to help keep it soft and tame the chaos. I'm so happy to hear that L'Oreal is taking the steps to become a cruelty free company! None of their products sold in the U.S. are tested on animals. I received this L'Oreal Air Dry Undone It Cream complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate whatever genius created BB Creams? They are light weight while still keeping your skin looking flawless! They're also super hydrating and some even have built in SPF. This BB Cream from NYX is one of my faves at the moment.
High Lighter Stick
What better time to 'glow up' than at a music festival?! An easy way to ad highlight without needing extra brushes or even a mirror (if you're really talented) is with a high lighter stick like this one from Wet n Wild
